Terms of Service

1. The service
qahuman is a marketplace connecting app makers ("Makers") with human QA testers ("Testers"). We facilitate job posting, proposal submission, bug report delivery, and payment processing. We are not a party to the working relationship between Makers and Testers.
2. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- One account per person. Every account can act as both Maker and Tester.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. For Makers
- When you post a job, your budget is held in escrow via Stripe until the report is approved.
- You have 7 days to review a submitted report. After 7 days, the report auto-approves at 4 stars.
- You may request up to 3 rounds of changes before approving or disputing.
- Disputes are reviewed by qahuman admins. Admin decisions are final.
- Do not share production credentials. Use test accounts and sandbox environments, and rotate shared access after the job.
4. For Testers
- Proposals are non-binding until accepted by the Maker.
- Once accepted, you are expected to deliver a report within the agreed timeframe.
- Reports must be original work. Do not use automated testing tools and pass them off as manual testing.
- Payments are processed via Stripe Connect to your connected account after report approval.
- XP, levels, badges, and ratings are earned through completed work and cannot be transferred or purchased.
5. Payments & fees
- Platform fee: 10% of the job budget, charged to the Maker at checkout.
- Escrow: full job amount (budget + fee) is charged upfront via Stripe Checkout.
- Payout: on approval, the budget amount (minus Stripe's processing fees) transfers to the Tester's Stripe Connect account.
- Refunds: if a dispute is resolved in the Maker's favor, the escrowed amount is refunded. Platform fees are non-refundable.
6. Disputes
If a Maker disputes a report, both parties can post evidence in the message thread. A qahuman admin will review and make a binding decision — either approving the report (releasing payment to the Tester) or cancelling the job (refunding the Maker). We aim to resolve disputes within 7 business days.
7. Prohibited conduct
- Taking communication or payment off-platform to avoid fees.
- Submitting fraudulent reports, fake bugs, or AI-generated content disguised as manual testing.
- Harassment, abuse, or discrimination against other users.
- Creating multiple accounts to manipulate ratings or game the system.
- Sharing or leaking confidential information from testing engagements.
8. Intellectual property
Bug reports, screenshots, and videos created during a job are work product delivered to the Maker. Testers retain no rights to the content of their reports after delivery. Makers grant Testers access to their apps solely for the purpose of testing.
9. Liability
qahuman is provided "as is". We are not liable for bugs found (or missed) by Testers, app downtime caused during testing, or disputes between Makers and Testers beyond our admin review process. Our total liability is limited to the platform fees you've paid in the last 12 months.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to all users 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
